Is it better to be.. “broke”?

I captured this photo while passing through Shizuoka on a road trip to Kyoto

A year ago, I was going to wait 8 more years to move to Japan. Isn’t that just ridiculous? Well see, there’s a reason. I wanted to have $50,000 before I go and I wanted to obtain this money by joining the military and saving.

While this plan might sound financially solid, it was silly. Continue reading “Is it better to be.. “broke”?”

Minimalism

Declutter Update #2

I’m making so much progress with my journey to minimalism. I actually thought that this would be a lot more difficult, but I guess when the timing is right, things will usually just fall into place. I’ve managed to get rid of a TON of junk and trinkets, about 45% of my paper waste, and maybe 25% of my unused clothes. I’ve  also re-organized my kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Minimalism

De-clutter Update #1

Since my initial post about beginning my “minimalist” journey, I’ve been spending quite a bit of time getting rid of stuff..! Although there was a very small part of me that wanted to earn some cash for my things, I just ended up donating or throwing a lot of it away. I was just overwhelmed with the amount of random items I had in my possession and how junky my living space had become. I have so much more space now and I love it! I still have a good bit of items (mainly books and magazines) to deal with, but once that’s all out, I’ll be cleared up.  Since I’ve been aiming to not only minimize stuff but keep clutter free, I’ve also invested in storage/shelving etc..

My next mission is something called a capsule wardrobe. I don’t know if  I could really do it.. but I like the concept!

Finding my passion and working for “free”

Finding my passion seems to be a full time job these day, except I’m not being paid to do so.. And it sounds like once I find this passion, I’ll need to practice it frequently so that I’m actually good at doing it (unless it’s something I already do). Maybe this is just the laziness in me, but that sounds like a lot of work! (Definitely laziness) And one thing I don’t like to do is work for free..
